Ivory Coast has several ecotourism sites that will allow you to escape the stress of the busy urban life, to immerse yourself in a pure and elegant nature, to go for new scents in the virgin forest, to breathe some clean air in the rainforest, relax, take a canoe trip, hike, watch the animals and forget the worries of everyday life. Ivory Coast is one of the last treasures of African fauna with a breathtaking concentration of animals. We shall also go for the discovery of the Abidjan National Zoo, which was created in 1972 as a private property before its transformation into a State property lodged under the Ministry of the Environment, Water and Forests, in the same year. The zoo covers an area of 20 hectares and it has about 230 animals distributed into 48 species. It is a must-see attraction in Côte d’Ivoire, as a visit to the zoo will permit to generate resources necessary for the survival of animals.

The city of Sassandra, a seaside resort and historic city will also open its doors for us. A city tour will allow us to discover some must-see attractions such as: The Governor’s Palace, an ancient building full of history. It was prefabricated in France and delivered on April 18, 1893. The palace is seduced by its colonial architecture and offers a magical panoramic view to the luxurious beaches of Sassandra which compete in beauty among themselves, the craft port and the wharf of Sassandra.

Beautiful bays surrounded by rocks in the heart of a lush landscape where you will appreciate the beauty. We will then discover the Sassandra Wharf which was built in 1951 and which once favored trade between Côte d’Ivoire and other countries until the creation of the Vridi canal and the port of Abidjan. The conquest of hippopotamuses and canoe trips on the Sassandra River will not be left out. Excursions on the Nero River with the possibility of observing monkeys and many other animals in the Sassandra mangrove forest will also be in the rendezvous.
