From Cultural in the Yacouba countries “MAN” to the Safari in the National Park of Comoé
09 days and 08 nights to discover Abidjan, Banco National Park, Yamoussoukro, Man, Korhogo, Comoé National Park and Domaine BINI
This circuit will lead us to discover the cultural depths of the Yacouba countries and to the discovery of the flora and the fauna of the Comoé National Park. We will start the tour with the discovery of the Ivorian economic capital “Abidjan”. The Banco National Park is located in the heart of Abidjan and covers an area of nearly 3,000 ha. It was created in 1953 and it is an example of primary forest with rare animal and plant species.
Day 1: Hexagon - Abidjan
Arrival and reception at Félix Houphouët-Boigny airport in Abidjan by our agents, transfer to the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Abidjan – Yamoussoukro (250 km)
Breakfast and departure for the discovery of Abidjan, you will discover some popular districts like Adjamé with its colorful market. We will discover the fauna and flora of the Banco forest with its multiple tropical species and the famous FANICOS washers, (these are men who wash clothes with worn tires on the shore in Abidjan). Lunch in a restaurant in the city and departure for Yamoussoukro. We will stop at Ahouakro to explore the magnificent archaeological park. The Ahouakro Archaeological Park is a tourist attraction of great interest, it covers an area of 120 hectares and is dominated by plant formations characteristic of the region. It has been registered
since 2006 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continuation of the trip to Yamoussoukro, arrival, installation at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Yamoussoukro - Man (332 km)
Early wake up, breakfast and visit of Our Lady of Peace Basilica, the largest Christian religious building in the world, visit of the FHB Foundation (Félix Houphouet-Boigny Foundation for peace research, visit of the sacred crocodile lake of the presidential palace. We will meet the weavers of Bomizambo, it is a small village in the Yamoussoukro district where the art of weaving is passed down from generation to generation. This is where the traditional Baoulé waistcloths are made, which are among the most beautiful African fabrics. Lunch and departure at the end of the afternoon for Man via Daloa. Arrival in Man, installation at the hotel, dinner and overnight.
Days 4 &5: Discovery of Man and its surroundings - Korhogo (500 km)
Breakfast and visit of the city of MAN. The city of Man is a magnificent city in a sublime setting, beautiful mountains often hidden by fog and its multiple waterfalls and magnificent rivers which surprise the visitor with their mystery. Also known as the “city of 18 mountains”, Man is mainly populated by the Dan people and rests in a green setting and waterfalls. We will visit the fabulous bridges of lianas whose achievements remain unexplained, the natural waterfalls which attract hundreds of visitors every weekend thanks to its natural swimming pool formed at the foot of the fall, the sacred monkeys, the 18 mountains of Man including Man’s tooth and Mount
Tonkoui whichrises to 1,189 meters and which is the highest peak in the mountains of Man and the second highest peak in the country after Mount Nimba. The fascinating sect of Gor with great initiates who have the power to make themselves invisible or to metamorphose into leopards will also be there. Departure in the afternoon for Korhogo, arrival installation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Korhogo – Comoé National Park (200 km)
After breakfast, our day will be devoted to the discovery of the Senufo country. The discovery of the Senufo country will lead us to a people who have managed to conserve their cultural heritage over time. We will visit the weavers of Waraniné, the blacksmiths and the painters on fabrics of Fakaha who inspired Pablo Picasso in the realization of some of his works. Departure at the end of the afternoon for the Comoé National Park, arrival, formalities of entry to the park, installation at the Safari lodge, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7 & 8: Comoé National Park – Abidjan (200 km)
Breakfast and departure for safari days in the Comoé National Park. The Comoé National Park was created in 1968 as a wildlife reserve (“Bouna Reserve”) and later became a national park. It covers an area of 1,150,000 hectares and is today one of the oldest and most important parks in Côte d’Ivoire. With 500 km of graded trails, the fauna is made up of Elephants, Buffalo, Cobe Buffon, Lions, Hippopotamus, Cynocephals, several varieties of birds and many other animal and plant species. Various activities in the National Park and visit of some surrounding villages populated mainly by Lobi populations, immersion in their way of life and discovery of their culture
and traditions. Departure at the end of the afternoon for Abidjan, late arrival, installation at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Abidjan- Domaine BINI – Abidjan
Early wake-up, breakfast and visit of Domaine BINI. The Domaine BINI awaits us for an extraordinary day of relaxation in an unparalleled setting. Located some 30 minutes’ drive from the city of Abidjan, the Bini domain is an ecological site that covers an area of 70 hectares. It is an ideal setting to come out from everyday stress and immerse yourself into pure nature. You can practice hiking, zip lines, take a bath of clay, swim or just relax for those who need rest. A passionate and warm professional team will take care of you during your visit. At last, daily stress will go away.
